What is Eid ul fitar?

Eid al-Fitr, also known as the "Festival of Fasting Iftar", is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world at the end of the month of Ramadan at sunrise.  This religious Eid is the only day in the month of Shawwal during which Muslims are not allowed to fast.

The date of the beginning of any lunar month varies on the day when the moon is seen by the local religious authorities, so the day of celebration varies locally. In West Africa it is commonly called as "Coret" .  Eid-ul-Fitr is a special prayer. It consists two rak'ats (units). The prayer of eid ul fitar is usually performed in an open space field commonly known as "Eid Gah"or "عیدگاہ" or in a large hall.

This ceremony can only be performed in congregation and includes six additional takbeers in the Hanafi school of Sunni Islam (raising hands to the ears saying "Allah is the Greatest"): the first three rak'ahs in the beginning and three rak'ahs in the second.

Before  Other Sunni schools usually have twelve takbirs, similarly divided into groups of seven and five.  In Shia Islam, Salah has six takbeers in the first rak'ah at the end of the recitation, before stopping, and five in the second.  Musab Jamal (Strictly Recommended) or Mendab Mandob (Afzal)
